I’m going to school still and live in an apt. I want to grow my own organic herbs and vegetabesl. I just moved to SLC, Utah and actually plan to move back to Oregon in a year. I’d like to get things started though. What is your advice? I’d like to keep them potted for a while because I won’t have my own house to plant them in the ground at, for years. Thanks :)

Ok so i have been throwing the idea around for way to long to start a garden. I have finally decided now is the time. So I have allready started composting organic waste and i know that that will help for nutrient rich soil, but i am unsure of what to plant. Can i plant anything this time of year? I mean i know pumpkins grow this time year but did i miss the chance to start. Is it too late? Or can i plant for the spring now? Or will the winter frost ruin things? I donno I live in NJ and we have minimal snow fall but it does get quite cold over the winter. Any advice would help. Also any tips on how to set up the garden or anything would be great. To start i have marked off a 3foot by 6foot rectange. I can go bigger but i did not want to get ahead of myself. THanks for reading
