Was there ANY KIND of death among living things before the sin of Adam Eve in the Garden of Eden?

a theist am I asked:


If yes, what kinds? If no, how could digestion and all sorts of other biological processes take place?

And would an absence of death of every type also mean that sin HAD to come eventually so that death could allow the planet to recycle organic materials?

yes certainly

the fossil record clearly shows that the earliest life, single cell organisms, died exactly as things today do
