Did you also ask this question of people of other religions to see how their answers compare? If so, please post a link. I’d be interested in reading the responses. I know of quite a few Christians who would answer these questions in a very similar way that I did. My daughter would also answer these questions similar to me even though she is a Muslim.
i love nature. not sure what religion i would define myself under(dont think its that important). i celebrate the seasons just not the hoildays in them. cooking is always involved. crafts are made too.anything to do with making the enviroment better is imporant. eat more organic foods and try to eat more healthier. i try to grow my own foods when ever i can. i would love to live in the country but right now unable to. but city is great too.

1. What is your religion, if it can be defined?…Asatru
2. Do you feel a spiritual connection to Nature?…I’ve always liked the outdoors, I don’t know if you’d call that a spiritual connection.
3. Do you celebrate the passing seasons?…No, not particularly. (This is partly to do with the area of the world I lived in, it didn’t really have four distinct seasons.)
4. Do your celebrations involve cooking foods?…No
5. Do your celebrations involve making crafts?….No
6. Do you place importance conservation, recycling or environmentalism?….Yes, but has nothing to do with my religion.
7. Have you spent time in forests or parks specifically for spiritual reasons?…..No, not specifically.
8. Have you made any lifestyle changes, such as vegetarianism or organic gardening/eating as a result of your religious beliefs?……No, not as a result of my religion.
9. Do you grow any of your own food?…No.
10. Does your faith have an effect on your decision about where to live? ie: closer to other pagans, or maybe further into the country?….No.
1. What is your religion, if it can be defined?
Hard to define, so for the sake of conversation I just say eclectic pagan.
2. Do you feel a spiritual connection to Nature?
Absolutely.
3. Do you celebrate the passing seasons?
Yes, ever since I was a child. My parents always thought I was a hippie incarnate lol.
4. Do your celebrations involve cooking foods?
When i was younger no, but now that I am an adult with kids cooking is a major part of my celebrations. The past few years I have definitely gone overboard with the feasts lol.
5. Do your celebrations involve making crafts?
We are beginning to, it is a good way to get my kids involved without putting too much pressure on them.
6. Do you place importance conservation, recycling or environmentalism?
I make a conscience effort to live green, but not to any extremes.
7. Have you spent time in forests or parks specifically for spiritual reasons?
I live in a very rural area, so that is everyday life for me.
8. Have you made any lifestyle changes, such as vegetarianism or organic gardening/eating as a result of your religious beliefs?
I go organic when I can. Unfortunately, the prices keeps me from going full on organic.
9. Do you grow any of your own food?
I’m getting into gardening, mostly plants and herbs though.. I’m not quite ready for growing my own crops lol
10. Does your faith have an effect on your decision about where to live? ie: closer to other pagans, or maybe further into the country?
I’m solitary and at times I wish I lived closer to more people like me, but nothing I would uproot my life for. I live very close to a nature reserve, and my husbands family owns lots of land out in the country so I’m perfectly happy here. If I were forced to move to an urban area, I would still take occasional trips to a more rural area…. but overall I would still be happy I think. Life is what you make of it, you know? ![]()

1. What is your religion, if it can be defined?
~I am a Nordic Heathen
2. Do you feel a spiritual connection to Nature?
~Yes, actually I do. We have these things called landvaettir. They are the entities that live in the natural environment all around us. They can hurt or help you. Tick them off and I can guarantee they will work against you.
3. Do you celebrate the passing seasons?
~Not the same way most pagans and Wiccans do, but in my own way, yes.
4. Do your celebrations involve cooking foods?
~We always feast after blot or sumbel, so yes.
5. Do your celebrations involve making crafts?
Self Sufficiency is one of the NNV along with Industriousness, and we also value those things we have created ourselves. Crafting sensible, useful items is seen as a valuable skill (along with cooking) and is frequently passed on to others in our community. I’m teaching other womenfolk in my Kindred some of the more obscure cooking skills now. That is my craft.
6. Do you place importance conservation, recycling or environmentalism?
~Yes, I do. Don’t want to anger the landvaettir.
7. Have you spent time in forests or parks specifically for spiritual reasons?
~Yes. We even hold our Moots and AlThing in forests or National/State parks.
8. Have you made any lifestyle changes, such as vegetarianism or organic gardening/eating as a result of your religious beliefs?
~No. I was raised by Nordic Heathens so no changes were necessary. I’ve also always eaten with the seasons as I grew up in Norway, a place where subsistence hunting and fishing is common and seasonal eating is a necessity due to the environment.
9. Do you grow any of your own food?
~Yes. I have an extensive herb garden and this year I grew squash, tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers, chiles, bell peppers, cabbages and couple types of greens. I also have a pear tree, an avocado tree, a lime tree and I just planted a cherry tree. (Rainer cherries - my favorite) I also know where there are a couple of wild pomegranate trees and there are blackberry bushes all over my neighborhood, so I go pick those when they’re ready.
10. Does your faith have an effect on your decision about where to live? ie: closer to other pagans, or maybe further into the country?
~There are actually several other Nordic Heathen families living around one large, heavily wooded park. I live on the North side of the park. Whenever one of the large houses goes up for sale we let everyone in the Kindred know and pool money for a down payment, etc if necessary. Mine was the third family to do this in this neighborhoood. We’re slowly taking over in other words! ☺
1. Eclectic Pagan Witchcraft is the name I give to the path I shape and follow.
2. Yes, I do. I work a lot with energy and I am a feeling person (I usually feel, not see or hear or experience in other ways like e.g. I may feel a spirit not see it). I also tune in easily and I can feel the pulse of the earth, the trees etc. I’d say I’m in touch with Nature.
3. I celebrate the Equinoxes and Solstices but not the passing of seasons per se, as I follow mainly personally designated holy days.
4. No. I don’t cook.
5. No. I’m not very good in making things (except drawing).
6. Quite a bit. My family and I recycle paper and plastic.
7. I like to take long walks in parks and woods. I connect easier with Nature that way.
8. No. I can’t live without meat (medical reasons as well as preference) and we don’t have a garden or yard. We do eat biological food when possible.
9. No. Physically impossible (no garden/yard - living in an apartment).
10. No. My faith is almost purely on the spiritual side of things. I don’t see my residence or most of my habits as affecting my spirituality or my relationship with the Gods. Also, Pagans are kind of scarce (or too secretive) in Greece and I am unable to live further into the country for a multitude of reasons (i.e. financial ones, my university etc).

8. Have you made any lifestyle changes, such as vegetarianism or organic gardening/eating as a result of your religious beliefs? I have tried…I have given up red meat and all pork products. I only eat chicken and fish on rare occasions (though I do miss bacon more than anything else)
9. Do you grow any of your own food? I wish, I just dont have the space, or the free time.
10. Does your faith have an effect on your decision about where to live? ie: closer to other pagans, or maybe further into the country I would be much farther out into the country…with a lot more land if I had my choice.

9-no, we have no garden,w e live in a flat, we possiblty would if we could
10-yes i think so, long before i knew i was pagan, i have always always wanted to live in either the country with the animals and trees and all that quiet, OR, in the snowy mountains
i despise the city, but, that could always be contributed to by the fact that i live in one, so of course i hate it

8. Yes. We try to eat organic as much as possible. I am trying to go vegetarian but not so much for religious as for health reasons.

6. Very much so
7. Yes. What better way to get in touch with nature than to be in it!
8. To an extent. I am not a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination, although I do try to buy organic foods. I understand the natural cycle of things, and with the comes being at the top of the food chain so I am most definitely a meat-eater. Where I live the deer are completely overpopulated, so in addition, I have no problem going into the woods and hunting for my meals (or if a deer happens to hit me while I’m driving… that’s fair game as well… I would much rather take the deer home to eat then watch it rot on the side of the road for no reason… and yes, I have done this).
9. Yes. Basil, mint, oregano, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers. Would like to get a farm someday so I can raise my own livestock, as well.
10. I currently live in the Northeast, and with so many different cultures it is fairly tolerant here. Prior to that, I lived in California where pretty much anything goes. I would like to move to the South, but will admit I do have some hesitation because I know some areas are not very receptive to other beliefs/religions.
ETA: For 10. I should have added that it doesn’t really matter where I live, I find a way to incorporate nature. I currently live in a heavily populated area (7,000 people/square mile), and in spite of that I have managed to grow quite the garden just on my balcony. I think I would prefer to live in the country, but not so far away from everything that I would feel completely secluded from civilization. I like interacting with people from time to time ![]()

5. Again, I have a lack of time and access.

7. Yes.
8. I don’t believe in vegetarianism because I think that to keep the natural balance, predators need to eat the meat that they’re meant to eat. Humans are predators. We have fore-set eyes and canine teeth like every other predator. I prefer to eat organic when it’s available, and if I was able to, I would keep a garden.
9. Again, I really can’t.
10. I think it’s more my personality that is attracted to the country, but I think that my religion will be easier to practice in the country anyway. I certainly wouldn’t mind living near other Pagans either though.

Greetings, I’ll be happy to take the survey…
1. What is your religion, if it can be defined?
We are followers of the Goddess
2. Do you feel a spiritual connection to Nature?
Of course
3. Do you celebrate the passing seasons?
Yes indeed, these are our primary celebration days
4. Do your celebrations involve cooking foods?
Not particularly. We hold ritual and then just have
a party afterwards. The food may be purchased.
5. Do your celebrations involve making crafts?
No, although most of us do that in our spare time
6. Do you place importance conservation, recycling or environmentalism?
Yes, although we each must find the ways which
are best for us to work towards those goals.
7. Have you spent time in forests or parks specifically for spiritual reasons?
No, my health won’t permit that, I’m afraid.
8. Have you made any lifestyle changes, such as vegetarianism or organic gardening/eating as a result of your religious beliefs?
Yes, I became a vegetarian out of concern for the
mistreatment and slaughter of animals.
9. Do you grow any of your own food?
No, in southern Arizona the soil is not good enough
for that.
10. Does your faith have an effect on your decision about where to live? ie: closer to other pagans, or maybe further into the country?
Yes, I need to have seclusion and tranquility so
I live in a quiet rural area.
Blessings, and joyous Equinox !
