organic gardening tips
Alice M asked:

I’m 15, and I’ve always wanted to lead a more organic lifestyle. Maybe for the reason that my family is the exact opposite. I myself am a vegetarian, while my step dad consumes meet at least every meal. It’s gross.

Anyway, I’ve voiced how I want to be more earth helping and organic. I said that I wanted to eat all organic foods, but they laugh in my face and say they dont want to waste their money because organic food is more expensive. I on the other hand plan on starting to buy some of my own food from an organic health food store, but I’m not exactly sure how and what is really 100% organic I think growing some fruits and vegetables in a garden could be beneficiary but I also dont know how to garden.

I just want any help/tips/advice from people. And maybe if you lead a lifestyle like I want give me some advice or tell me what you do.

Any input is helpful :) Thank you!

Grow your own vegetables.

Keep in mind that organic does NOT mean healthier. If all food was grown organically half of the world’s population would starve to death.

Have lots and lots of money, yes organic foods are more expensive. My fiance and I want to eat more organic foods and be more healthy but we can’t afford it. We need to buy the less healthy stuff because it cost less and we can by more of it, so it will last longer.

If you want your own food, you should look into getting a job but don’t expect to buy very much of it with it being more expensive. Also, you can always look up how to garden on google and how to eat better.

chop the eye balls off of all the animals you consume and that way they cant see who’s eating them.

start going to the farmers market and buy your food there. if it must be organic than ask the farmers if they grow that way. You can also get tips on how to grow a garden yourself there. You might even ask around and see if any farms would be interested in letting you help out at their farm-you will learn a lot about organic living and gardening fast that way.

See if there is not an organic group in your state. in Ohio we have the Ohio Ecological Food and farm Association that offers a lot of information to people who go organic plus there are a lot of local chapters that have meetings and where like minded people can meet. And that is something you need, a support group

I believe this site has a list of all the state associations
