organic gardening
crystal. asked:

We re-started an Earth Club at my high school and I was wondering if anyone had ideas to help our wonderful Earth, and environment, as well as ways to go green, and other ways to save our environmental issues??

Here are some ideas already taken:
Beach clean-up, Educating primary school children, Recycling contests/recycling bins all over campus, Organic garden, planting trees, eco-friendly fundraisers, donations to organizations in favor of helping the earth.
I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO BE RESPECTED, SO PLEASE DO NOT MAKE RUDE REAMARKS, AND PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU ARE HELPFUL TO MY QUESTION. I NEVER MENTIONED THAT I DIDN’T CARE ABOUT BABIES AND SUCH, BUT THERE IS SO MUCH THAT WE CAN DO IN THIS WORLD. IF YOUR ANSWER IS NOT RELEVANT TO MY QUESTION, NOR IS IT HELPFUL, THEN PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Sounds like your group is right on track in your ideas. I would also say you might want to promote compact fluorescent light bulbs, energy conservation, and eduction on renewable energy. Many energy companies now offer the option to pay a small premium to purchase energy from only a renewable source, IE wind/solar…

You also might consider adopting a highway for publicity reasons as well as to clean up your area.

I am glad to hear the youth is getting involved, thanks to you and to your peers for all you are doing.

I am curious. Why is everyone o.k. with saving the green earth, saving the whales, saving the dogs and cats, saving the trees, and on and on….but never saving the babies. Do you know we have killed an entire generation? 40 million babies have died and no one is concerned. Amazing!

That is great, but it’s too late to do enough that will make a difference. Nuclear waste, radioactive pollution, and nuclear fallout will make the entire planet uninhabitable for life as we know it for 10’s of thousands of years. The good news. Mother earth will restore itself. In 2050 there will be 9 billion people and billions of cars burning fossil fuels. The planet will be much hotter, crowded, and the inevitable global nuclear war will persist for a decade until all the WMD’s are used.
Radioactive fall-out will kill almost all living things. The earth will cycle through another ammonia atmosphere. By then most of man’s pollution will be recycled into the earth.

This is my suggestion. Find some land that is local and available where the land owner will let you grow food. Learn to garden, learn what it takes to actually cultivate the land in a manner that will yield a result. It takes WORK. But the end result is food, real food.

A major part of our global problem is that we have become so separated from the land. We talk about the Earth, but when was the last time you actually got your hands dirty with good nutritional soil. When was the last time you smelled a hand full of rich dirt? We must have an appreciation for the very dirt that makes our earth if we are going to effect any positive changes.

Someone will be glad to donate land, and there is nothing else that will make an Earth Club really understand the earth than to work in it.

You can donate food to the cafeteria (maybe), take it home (proudly), give to a care center, share with the needy.

Best of luck, and if I can be of any help, please ask.

Here’s a notice my kids and I are planning to distribute to neighbors to help them participate in curb-side recycling. As we walk each week on trash pick-up day, we notice lots of cans, bottles, and paper in with trash for the landfill. Maybe you could use this idea around your school, or get students to do it in their home neighborhoods.

Make sure the car you drive is painted green, if not take it to Earl Scheib. Ask your principal to paint the school green. Ask your parents not to drive and to use the new updated stagecoach system being used in many municipalities. You might also consider becoming a member of the pagan religion which worships the earth as a god.
Actually as a high school student you have some responsibility to society to just make sure you get as good an education as possible in order to contribute and not take from society. The global warmist do just the opposite. By believing in global warming it makes you look stupid and unable to think for yourself. Instead it also makes you look like you will follow the nonsense of others like sheep without thinking things out for reasonableness or common sense.
