H.R. 759: Food Drug Administration Globalization Act of 2009
H.R. 875: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009
H.R. 2749: Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009
S. 425: Food Safety and Tracking Improvement Act
I have heard rumors here and there that they could potentially make organic and other small farms, possibly even family gardens, financially unviable due to government interference. If true, this issue would be very important to the livelihood of all Americans, political persuasions aside.
What do you know about these fast-tracked food safety bills?
Obama has betrayed small farmers with his appointments of Taylor and Vilsack. But to those who squarely blame Obama Admin. for this, read the following quote:
Agricultural biotechnology will find a supporter occupying the White House next year, regardless of which candidate win the election in November
- Monsanto Inhouse Newsletter, 2000
I am not surprised that this Administration wants to govern everything I do, eat, drive, what doctor I see, etc etc
They have to do with codex alimentarius. Which goes into effect in December. Control the food control the world.
Lobbyists from which companies support these bills? Monsanto, ADM, Tyson foods, etc.
These major corporations (who receive millions in federal subsidies annually, by the way) are pushing for a monopoly on our food supply by having their lobbyists use scare tactics on Congress.
The solution is to ban lobbying by special interest groups, especially those who receive taxpayer money in the form of subsidies.
You know who to take your complaints to, now will you do it?
Yes, I support organic farms.
And yes I know about all the legislation.
And you need to stop believing rumors that you hear. And no, they will not make small farms, family gardens, etc financially nonviable.
Frankly I am against adding any more laws on anything. But the gov is having to act because of things that have happened with contaminated food, etc.
Too bad you couldn’t ask this question to the people who died from eating contaminated peanut butter.
HR 1207 is another good one to add to the list.
