I also have a few assorted plants but these are the ones I’m most concerned about. I really need help with SPECIFIC pesticides for specific plants because certain solutions (like diluted tobacco) can kill several of my plants.
I just purchased ORGANOCIDE. Does this work?
I just want to know for preventative measures. I haven’t seen any pests yet but my backyard is about 10,000 square feet and I want to be prepared.
You’re looking at it from the wrong direction.
You don’t get specific pesticides for the PLANTS…you need specific pesticides for particular problem BUGS. Not all pesticides kill the all bugs.
And ideally, you only want to use them if there is a problem, as good bugs often get killed as well.
For soft-bodies bugs, an insecticidal soap spray (many available at garden stores and nurseries) is all you need. Ones with NEEM oil are particularly effective.
Flea beetles can be deterred by hot pepper sprays (make your own, or commercial concoctions).
I have to tell you - I grow all those plants - and aside from slugs on the strawberries (sprinkle a little SLUGGO around for that - perfectly harmless to animals birds), I’ve found almost no pest problems with those plants.
I don’t understand what pests you need to kill. If you have a good combination of plants and you garden organically you shouldn’t need any pesticides at all. I don’t own any pesticides and my gardens are extensive.
