organic gardening
Peanut B asked:

I am 17 years old and turn 18 this october. I want to join the peace corps applied agricultural science field. Ideally I would like to work with small communities to grow more food. Is this a realistic possibility for me? I really wanna help people. I’ve been in ag classes all high school and have always done organic gardening and stuff and I’m sure I will learn more by then.
also I’m not completely set on the agricultural thing. i would take any position to help people

The peace corps tends to like a college education.

Best of Luck

Peace corps wont really take anyone without a college education. Since you have that exp though it might help, but cant say for sure.

Actually I really like the agricultural idea. I can definitely see how that would help some communities. Unfortunately, peace corps really does want someone with a college degree, unless you have some awesome work experience in that field. So if you are planning on going to college in the agricultural/environmental field, that would be perfect for you. Get your degree, take some time off after college, and join peace corps. One of my friends did that and she thinks that is the best decision she made in her entire life. So Good Luck! =)
