Now they know how dangerous these chemicals that are sprayed on plants. Lots of chemicals have been banned because it’s been shown to cause cancer! But a number of these dangerous chemicals have not been banned, & there may be lots of hidden dangers that have not yet been discovered. 

Crowds of people are turning to organic products as a way to feel more confident about the food they eat. People are worried about the food they take their bodies with all the reports of food poisoning from fruit & vegetables, lots of people are worried about what they eat.  In a private organic garden, you can obviously feel safer about the foods you eat. You know the food you give to your relatives is safer & healthier than the bad things are in the grocery store. 

Having an organic garden is also very useful for several reasons. First, when you spray crops with chemicals, those chemicals wash your plants & soil. From there, those chemicals wash in to the ground, groundwater.  Chemicals also kill lots of species of insects, so you can also cause an imbalance in the local wildlife.
