I printed a recipe for homemade organic dogfood a couple of months ago, but now I can’t find it to pass on to a friend… it had ground turkey, brown rice and vegetables, but I can’t remember the ratios. Please re-send it if you have it. Thanks!!!

Do any of the raw feeders here grow your own fruit/veggies??? If so - how does it work out for you? What do you grow? Do you grow totally organic? I intend to start a small garden this spring. Produce prices in my area are RIDICULOUS especially for the organic stuff. Anyone have any reccommendations for my dog food garden? :P

Just dropped off organic veggies to my friend at the animal shelter. We are planning a Green Day Fundraiser in a few weeks with all the extra veg’s I’ll have from my gigantic garden- radishes, arugula, zucchini, snap peas, green beans, tomatoes, cantaloupe, peppers. We are asking people to donate homemade products made with organic items like zucchini or banana bread, etc,, and will be playing alternative music (of course including Green Day) as part of the overall theme. Now I know I am fortunate enough to live on acreage that supports such a gigantic garden, but I still thought this was a very creative idea and a great deal all around- healthy organic veggies at low low prices (59 c/lb for tomatoes!!!)

What are some other great fundraising ideas you’ve seen or have participated in that I could Borrow to help benefit my shelter? You’re of course welcome to Borrow any fundraising tips I can give to you.

Thx in advance

PS- no offering to sell sex (LOL-get yourself spayed or neutered!)
EDIT TO HUSKY:

Northern NJ. I am lucky enough to have 3 acres and 1/4 acre of it is a 6 foot deer fenced garden I share with my neighbor.

I currently have 13 zucchinis in my fridge- frankly I’m getting kind of tired of them, so this sale (scheduled for as soon as the tomatoes ripen) cannot come soon enough as I will be green and buried in zuccs by then. Stupid me planted 14 zucchs. Record rain and record heat and boy do I have a bumper crop.

Ahhh, smack me in the face… How vain and American to bitch about having too much food…especially when I can give it away or donate it. That’s it- until the shelter sale the xxtra zucchs go to the food bank!!! Thank you for waking me up!!
EDIT to Mcally: Wanna swap some kudzu for zuccs? Or even better, wanna weave me some kudzu baskets to put my zuccs in?
LOL
EDIT TO ROTTEN ROTS: Why’d I call you Mcally? My bad- sorry. It was late at night…all q’s and a’s running together… but the kudzu offer stands!

We have tried to wear her Booties which she tears off, all the creams and drugs prescribed by the Vet have not helped. It is preventing us from exercising her as usual and we are at a loss how to deal with this problem. We live on a Golf Course and suspect it might be the grass or the fertilisers which are used. Our Garden is fenced and with a lawn but we use no chemicals only organic materials. We have tried to walk him on the street however the irritation persists. Can anyone help??
