For everyone that goes to the super market. Think about all the produce that’s in the produce section. At Jewel-Osco, SaveAlot, Dominick’s, Aldis, Wholefoods and any other small grocery store or grocery chain. Really think about every orange, apple, pear, carrot, tomato etc.
Where could I go to get
A. one pound of
B. every seed of
C. Every plant that we see in the grocery store?
As in if something happened to the food supply and food wasn’t produced. And we had to grow our own. Where could we go right now to get cottonseed, wheat seeds, apple seeds etc. Each in a one pound bag and easily storable for multiple years.
Is there a special seed store somewhere in the country? Or can they be ordered from somewhere?
I’m curious. If we had to buy a one pound bag of every seed of every single plant that exist(oats, almonds, peanuts, grapes) in the grocery store. Where would we get it?
P.S. Pulling seeds out of produce wouldn’t work.
a. It would take too long to get a pound for EACH fruit/vegetable
b. to dirty and expensive
c. most vegetables don’t have seeds in them
d. many fruits have been modified to be without seeds.
btw. F*** Monsanto and GMO!!! THEY CAN BOTH GO TO HELL!!!

I’m working on a newspaper story about organic gardening and I’m trying to get an overview of the history of corporate farming in the U.S. and some of the big-name corporations normally associated with corporate farming, since it seems that the increasing emphasis on organic gardening and farming is, to a large degree, a reaction against corporate farming. Any resources anyone could point me to would be greatly appreciated.
