Then in 7th or 8th grade. A lot of my previous classmates went to my same junior high. And told me that BOTH of my teachers on each side of the hall, at the end of the hall, by the back doors died of cancer.
And when I got to my friends house outside the city, I see planes spraying chemicals on the crops. and there are warnings that people who are surrounded by crops that spray poison have a higher risk of health issues. Like asthma or something.
And well. I don’t want to eat that. I don’t want to spray harsh chemicals on my food everyday, then wash it off and eat it. That just cant be good.
So im going to have my own garden.
Any one know all natural ways to keep the bugs off. What do you do? Spray water on it everyday? Vinagre? Lemon juice?
(ps. Im asking this in the alternative med section, because i figured people in here know a lot of places to get organic stuff)
Yeah get a pan and oil and roast them for supper. That should scare all the other ones away.
a scarecrow?
ask kindly..
and they will leave
‘orange you organic pest killing formula’- it works great!!
This is what you do… go into your garden without makeup on!
um only for beetles you can set a beetle trap on a tree by ur garden and at night the bettles fly in it theres like something they like on it.
There is nothing in the least bit healthy or natural about a garden that has no bugs in it!
Ask them if they would leave, and if they don’t sue the bugs.
pepper spray mixture
I use it and it works great.
mix some pepper or garlic in water drain then spray
the plants. It works great
Companion planting is the best bet. Also, plant indoors before the growing season, if the plants are more mature earlier in the season, it can throw off the bugs life cycle. Also, encourage beneficial predatory insects by planting lots of flowering herbs. Soap water discourages aphids, pepper juice diluted with water discourages chewing insects.
It depends on what type of bugs. To start there is companion planting i.e: most bugs don’t like garlic so plant those next to bug infested vegies and they go away. Beer for snails - they get drunk and are easily collected. Recycle your dishwashing water to get rid of aphids or even google organic gardening and you will possibly find most of your answers there. Good luck happy gardening!
Technically, to do what you’re asking, you really want to just get out of the mentality of put ___ on plants to make the bugs go away. Even if you use a much less toxic substance (ie. a natural one) it still has issues.
There are two other modes of farming/agriculture that work quite well however. The first is biodynamic, the second is permaculture. Both are built around manipulating the ecosystem such that it deals with the pests for you instead of requiring you to add in substances to get the job done.
The simplest biodynamic one is to buy some praying mantis’s and let them loose in the garden. If you live in a climate where they can survive, the mantis’s will eat all the bugs present [they work really well; much better than pesticides especially in gardens].
Alternatively you can do the permaculture approach. The exact ecosystem you are going to want to design varies by the area (and you should probably buy a permaculture book, download a torrent on the subject or google the plants you want + permaculture), but essentially, if you pick the right plants to plant (generally the key is to have a large variety of mostly native ones), bugs will just leave your garden alone, and definitely be enough of a problem to actually eat your crops up.
I’m really a huge fan of the praying mantis’s though!
You can also something called ‘row cover’. It’s a light-weight, semi-transparent fabric that you put over your vegetables, acting as a barrier between them and pests.
