organic gardening
Chloe asked:

Real, scientific websites with research on presence (or lack of) of pesticides and fertiilizer in foods, as opposed to hippie dippy garden of eden preachy-with-no-backup stuff.

Thanks!

Here is a site that gives evidence of research articles for organic vs commercially produced food. You can dig into it starting with these if interested and determine if you consider it hippie dippy garden of Eden stuff or not. I think a lot of this kind of research is a bit biased at times.

There are more web sites than you can imagine. The information gleaned over the last few decades are now just matter of fact material no longer in the realm of the flight of fancy and meditation amidst the grain fields. You can surely find articles on tissue concentrations of pesticides and the decline of soils with the use of chemical fertilizer, but research now is much more specific. It is a given that chemicals are a problem but the depth and subtleties of the issue, and the far reaching implications of problems caused in society from exposures are highlighted these days. Pick something specific and then narrow that down even more and you will see the tip of the iceberg of the research going on these days.
