Big-O is a brand of plastic drainage tile that is made with repeated largerf diameter and small diameter sections, each about 2 cm wide. In slotted or perforated Big-O the slots or perforations are in the smaller diameter sections. This leaves a pathway around the tile that lets water in most efficiently… and keeps the soil from pressing into the perforations.
It is made in a plant in ARVA Ontario, plus a couple others in the USA. It was at one time used only in agriculture, but recently (40 years or so, it has become our dominant tile around building footings,
