organic gardening help
medan01 asked:

it was an answer to my question of how to dry a large amount of topsoil, and im not really sure what it is. and to all of those who got smart and pissy about me calling my topsoil dirt here is a definition from a website that sells different types of material such as sand, dirt, fertilizer, etc. Screened Top Soil
Screened sandy loam (DIRT) this soil is mainly used under new turf or top dressing lawns. Can be used as a base soil for garden beds however, organic matter must be added. i guess that means i have a right to call my topsoil DIRT if i like. anyway really need to know about the tile bed. thanks for your help

Big-O is a brand of plastic drainage tile that is made with repeated largerf diameter and small diameter sections, each about 2 cm wide. In slotted or perforated Big-O the slots or perforations are in the smaller diameter sections. This leaves a pathway around the tile that lets water in most efficiently… and keeps the soil from pressing into the perforations.

It is made in a plant in ARVA Ontario, plus a couple others in the USA. It was at one time used only in agriculture, but recently (40 years or so, it has become our dominant tile around building footings,

Dirt is what yu have on your hands when you have been working in soil. Soiled is what your clothing gets, and yes, it is all about trying to conform to some idiotic code of linguistics. Using the wrong term means one is deemed ignorant, choosing to ignore idiotic rules. ;)
