grow organic vegetables
JmAoNmE asked:

I grow a garden and I feed them all kinds of organic vegetables, but they still won’t grow any taller. My family is asian and asian food has a lot of good fresh vegies. I feed them good stuff and they won’t get any taller. They’re both 5′ 5 and I’m 5′ 1, my husband is 5′ 11 does it have to do with genes?

height all depends on genes, unless they are being undernourished, which it doesn’t sound like they are. Height is controlled by many different genes, so even if you both were tall, you wouldn’t neccesarily have tall children. It is out of your hands. All you can do is make sure they get proper nutrients and vitamins, and then they will be the height they are suppossed to be. Plus, 5′5 isn’t that short. It’s pretty much average size for women today. If they are in their young teens, they probably haven’t grown fully either. Most girls don’t reach their full height until they are 16 or 17. I hope that helped.

I’m not trying to offend you, but they might be on the pill.
That seriously retards or stops growth in teenage girls.

I’m asian too. And my mom is about 5′1 also. Just like you. And my parents always feed me noodles with veg. in it. And I’m taller than my older sister and my mom. So it just might be genes. They probably have more of your genes then your husbands. I know this was a pretty bad answer. But I hope it helps!

My mom is 5 feet, my sister is 5′ 1, and I am 4′ 11 My dad and brother are both around 5′ 10. It does have to do with genes. I stopped growing when I was 14. Girls stop growing a lot earlier than boys. It sounds like you are feeding them very healthy food! Great!

Height has more to do with genetics than food, unfortunately. While fresh veggies are excellent for your health, I’m afraid they have almost nothing to do with your height.

Also, girls don’t reach their full height until late teens-early twenties. My best friend was only 5′1 or so until we were fifteen or sixteen–now she’s about 5′6 and I suspect she’s not done growing yet.

Your daughters may be done growing, or they may not be. They may not even have another growth spurt until they’re eighteen or so.

Don’t worry, teens have an odd way of almost always ending up fine. =D

5′5” isn’t short…in fact, its on the tall side of medium height. You’re girls are fine!! Growing taller does not necessarilly indicate health. And feeding your daughters foods specifically to make them grow taller is not a good message to be sending them. Girls have enough pressure on them to change their bodies already. Having their mother trying to force growth in height is not emotionally healthy for them. It sounds like your doing a good job of giving them healthy foods though. Keep doing that!
Most girls stop growing for a while at 13 or 14, and then some start growing again a little later. I got to about 5′5” in junior high, and then stopped growing for a while, and then started again off and on throughout high school, and now I’m 5′6”. I probably won’t grow anymore, because my body’s done. You’re girls may or may not start growing again later….but for now, don’t worry about it, and DON’T try to force it or pressure them into trying to force it, because they can’t.
Just keep them eating healthy.

Uhhh no. Most girls are done growing by the time they are 13 and 14. My mother stopped growing when she was 12. (She’s 5′6” by the way.)

Not only vegetables will help them growing taller. Feed them with good health drinks. There are even regular exercises for growing tall that you can consult with a good doctor or dietician.
