Example;
Does the White House have an organic food garden or Victory Garden on the First Lawn with the produce going to the White House kitchen and local food pantries?

Does the White House have solar energy panels?

In what way does the White House serve as a model at a time of economic and environmental crisis?

Due to the rising costs of homes, I find the idea of buying a home is becoming increasingly out of reach. I have heard that an Earth Shelter could be a way to go. I live near Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where the winters are below zero, but I heard that the earth under the ground is warmer, and provides insulation.

Please contact me if you have built one, and can tell me what your experience has been, good links to visit, what the estimated cost is, etc….What are the pros, what are the cons ? I live in my van most of the time, and travel, because I refuse to keep paying off someone else’s mortgage by renting when in the end it will never be my home.

What type of terrain should I be looking for ?

Im prepared to do this off the beaten track, in the woods, solar panel, wood stove, organic garden, the whole nine yards, far from the Wars and slaughterhouses of madmen in the guise of politicians !

Edward M asked:

I have been digging a hole in my yard for a water garden that I am going to construct, but the soil is rock hard and in-organic and because of the hole’s location in between two huge trees there are thousands of roots from small grass roots to huge 6 thick or bigger roots from the trees. I’ve been using a hoe to loosen the dirt for shoveling and to cut the roots, but it’s becoming an extreme physically enduring project. Are there any other low-budget methods to get a hole dug? Remember, I need to dig a hole to match my measurements and designs for a water garden, not just a big hole.

Note: A water garden, in my case, is a small man-made pond with fish, aquatic plants, frogs, etc.

It’s a New Day asked:

I plan on having an indoor garden. I will be using pots with soil, organic nutrients and a full daylight spectrum grow light, so none of that should really be a problem. I am trying to find out which strains are the best to grow indoors and why. For example, the meyer lemon is the best lemon tree to grow indoors because it can stay below 5′ tall and can produce more fruit than other lemon trees, most months of the year. I am interested in anything edible.

We have a section of lawn that we will convert to a herb and vegetable garden. It has grass and weeds. Can we simply rototill the ground, enrich the earth with organic fertilizer and compost? Is it better to remove the sod first?
